Jessica Calarco

Jessica Calarco is Associate Professor of Sociology at UW-Madison and expert on family life and educational inequalities. Her latest book, Holding It Together, examines how women function as America's social safety net. Her first book won the Pierre Bourdieu Award. An award-winning teacher and public scholar, Calarco writes for The New York Times, Washington Post, and Atlantic, making sociological insights accessible. She holds a PhD from University of Pennsylvania.
