When you nominate someone to Chief, you’re not just making an introduction. You’re opening doors, sparking collaboration, and expanding what’s possible for women leaders.

We recently redesigned the referral process to create a better experience for you, with a personal referral link, more visibility at every stage, and special thank yous along the way. Learn more about our new nominations program, and what it means for you, below.

What are the main changes between the new referral process and the original one?

We thoughtfully updated the referral process to create a better member experience.

You now have a personal referral link, available on the nomination page in your member portal, making it easier for you to invite qualified leaders to Chief. We also redesigned our email communications, so you’ll receive updates on your nominee’s status throughout the process. Finally, we introduced a new gifting program to thank you for your role in shaping the future of the Chief community. More details on each of these updates are outlined below.

How can I submit a nomination?

The easiest way to submit a nomination is by sharing your personal referral link with a qualified leader. The referral link lives on the nomination page in your member portal (see below). With this link, you can send the form directly to a qualified leader so they can complete it themselves. Or you can continue to submit nominations, if you already have their information, through the form on the same page.

What does it mean to submit a “qualified nomination”?

Qualified nominations are those that meet Chief’s membership criteria. In some cases, a leader may be a strong future fit but not quite aligned with our criteria today. When that happens, our team connects with them directly, keeps their information on file, and encourages them to stay in touch as their role evolves.

Once I submit a nomination, what does the process look like for my nominee?

If you nominate someone through the embedded form, they’ll receive an email notifying them of the nomination. If you share your referral link, they’ll receive a confirmation once they complete the form.

Qualified nominees are then invited to speak with a Membership Manager to learn more about Chief and explore membership. If additional information is needed, we may ask them to formally apply through our application form. From there, next steps will be communicated directly by our team.

How will I know if my nomination joins Chief?

If your nominee joins Chief, you’ll receive an email notification. It’s the perfect opportunity to congratulate them and welcome them into the community.

How can I track the number of people I’ve nominated and the status of their nomination?

Once you submit a nomination, you’ll receive email updates at key moments throughout the process — including when your nominee is contacted by our team and if they move forward with membership.

What are the nomination incentives?

Our nomination incentives are a way to say thank you for helping shape the future of the Chief community.

In addition to Chief swag, when your first nominee officially joins Chief, both of you will receive one additional month added to your membership term. *This applies to your first nominee who joins Chief.

When will I receive my incentive gift?

Incentive gifts are sent on a monthly basis. Once the gift has shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking information.
