Our Commitment to An Inclusive Community

At Chief, our vision is to build a community where one’s identity is never a barrier to leadership.

For too long, narrow definitions and barriers have limited who influences the future of business. It’s time to hit reset.

At Chief, possibility isn’t an aspiration — it’s standard practice. Our community is built for those who see opportunity where others see obstacles. We’re also here for those who want their identity, voice, and ambition to be strengths at the table.

If the traditional leadership ladder didn’t make space for you, we welcome you.

Our Community

Chief is the vetted network for today’s leaders, expanding their power and possibilities while forging authentic connections across differences.

Chief Grants

We offer grants to reduce the financial barrier for executives who have historically faced identity-based inequity and those employed in the nonprofit sector. Members may apply for a grant on an annual basis and, if they qualify, receive a $1,000 reduction in membership fees.

Programming

Chief’s programming partners with communities to ensure our members are seen and valued, creating opportunities including:

Intersectional community conversations

Heritage & History Month celebrations

Representation in the speakers and thought leaders featured in Chief-led events

Here, the focus is not on one narrative of leadership, but rather on expanding the realm of what’s possible.

Thought Leadership

Chief editorial content serves as a resource for leaders determined to influence the culture and trajectory of work itself — making room for bold ideas and new ways forward that are aligned with the spirit of today’s leaders.

Our Guidelines

Chief’s mission is clear: to create spaces where power and possibility come together. Our guidelines are grounded in values — powerful, inclusive, real, curious, and time travel — and inform how members engage so that everyone can offer their brilliance to the community.

Chief maintains a zero-tolerance policy for hateful or illegal behavior. We do not tolerate any harassment or discrimination that undermines the dignity and well-being of our members or staff.

Our Commitment

We believe in the principles of inclusion and belonging and strive to ensure that everyone, including those with disabilities, can meaningfully engage in our activities and services. We are committed to creating an accessible environment for all members.

Our Accessibility Initiatives

Technology and Digital Accessibility

We are committed to developing our digital platforms and technologies to be accessible, following best practices for web accessibility standards (WCAG).

Event and Program Accessibility

We strive to make all events and programs inclusive and accessible. This may involve providing sign language interpreters, ensuring venues are wheelchair-accessible, and accommodating dietary restrictions.

Physical Accessibility

We work to ensure that our physical spaces are accessible to individuals with mobility challenges. This includes ramps, alternative routes of ingress and egress, elevators, and designated restrooms.

Communication and Information

We are committed to providing accessible information and communications. We are working to ensure that alternative formats are offered for digital materials and captioning for videos.

Our Team

Our team is our differentiator and strength. We hold a shared belief in our mission and the power of community. Chief’s team brings people together across the full-spectrum of diversity to create, innovate, and build something special.

Our team is united by a belief that impact, belonging, and possibility are created when all voices are welcomed and valued — especially those for whom traditional ladders didn’t offer a path. One way we exemplify this is through the Chief Collectives

Our Collectives — API, Black, Early in Career, First Gen, Jewish, Latinx, LGBTQIA+ Neurodiverse — are the backbone of our team’s culture.
